This Cookie Policy explains how StaySpark (stayspark.io) uses cookies and similar technologies. The short version: we use very few cookies, and none of them track you across the internet.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember things like your login status and preferences.
2. Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These are required for StaySpark to function. You can't opt out of these without breaking the platform.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
next-auth.session-token | Keeps you logged in (NextAuth.js) | Session / 30 days |
next-auth.csrf-token | Prevents cross-site request forgery | Session |
next-auth.callback-url | Redirects you after login | Session |
__vercel_live_token | Vercel deployment functionality | Session |
Analytics
We use Umami Analytics for website analytics. Umami is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or collect personal data. We also use Microsoft Clarity for session replay and heatmaps to understand how users interact with our platform. Clarity may use cookies for session identification. Both tools help us improve the user experience without tracking you across other websites.
Marketing Cookies
We currently do not use any marketing or advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting any.
Third-Party Cookies
Stripe may set cookies when processing payments on checkout pages. These are essential for payment security and fraud prevention. See Stripe's Cookie Policy for details.
3. Cookies on Host-Generated Websites
Websites generated by StaySpark for hosts may include:
- Essential cookies for the booking engine (session management, CSRF protection)
- Umami Analytics (cookie-free) and Microsoft Clarity (session cookies for UX improvement)
- Stripe cookies on booking/payment pages
Hosts cannot add third-party tracking scripts or cookies to their generated websites through the StaySpark platform.
4. How to Control Cookies
Browser Settings
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
- Edge: Settings → Privacy → Cookies
Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in or using StaySpark.
Do Not Track
We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. Since we don't use tracking cookies, there's nothing to disable — but we honor the signal regardless.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we start using additional cookies (especially non-essential ones), we'll update this policy and implement a consent mechanism before setting them.
